Mutumbo and the Mysterious Missing Diamond
“Is this a diamond?” Before anyone could notice, Mutumbo grabbed the big shiny rock and placed it deep in the pocket of his pants. After he finished playing, he ran into his room and found his favorite pillow and pillow case. There he buried the diamond deep inside it. Later that evening Mutumbo and his family sat down to eat dinner. While eating, Mutumbo’s father told him about a news story that he had heard earlier that day. Someone had stolen a beautiful shiny diamond from a case in the Cape Town Museum.
At The End of The Rainbow
“Yes!” Juan thought to himself. “If I can just wait until my mother leaves the room, I’ll go play with my friends anyway.” First, Juan opened his window. Next, he grabbed some of his sheets and tied them in huge knots to create a ladder. He took one foot and stuck it outside of the window and looked back; then, he took the other foot and did the same.
As he scurried down the side of the house, he heard his mother’s voice calling, “Juan, honey, you need to come downstairs.”
